Offering the elusive Phillipson Paramount model in the 8’6” 3/2 format.  The rod is in very good condition with one unfortunate exception – a missing snake guide on one tip.  I don’t know if it is possible to slide a new snake into the original wraps, but the wraps are still nice and tight.  It looks like there was an accident (possibly in shipping) where the tube was dented and the snake broke, leaving the feet inside the wraps.  I will supply the correct snake for the replacement.  

This is a fantastic taper and throws a nice loop with a WF5.  The rod was built in the late 1940s with select, high quality cane wrapped in black and white jasper silk tipped with black and gold.  It is furnished with a Perfection stripping guide and tip tops.  All sections are full length and straight. All guides and ferrules are tight. Ferrule fit is good – not great though.  Nice hammer handle cork grip; however, the cork near the reel seat was used as a hook keeper (see photo).  The reel seat has minor scuffing on the bottom of the butt cap.  The rod weighs 5.05 ounces, and is supplied in its original bag and original tube.  The tube has a dent, and an owner decoratively engraved his name into the rod tube.
