 They say, there's nothing like fishing these old USA & English bamboo fly rods. A lot of the newer fiberglass, graphite and carbon rods are to stiff and just don't have the same feel as bamboo which is a living fiber.

This is one of the nicest rods I've come across and definitely the finest UNION rod I've seen. This rod is as straight as it gets with absolutely no memory bends. don't go by the pictures. looks better then them and is as nice as they get.


VINTAGE USA HIGH QUALITY SPLIT BAMBOO FLY ROD MADE IN THE USA READY TO GO OUT AND FISH, COLLECT OR BOTH.

 This rod is 83 years old and in EXCELLENT PLUS Condition and all original. I cant find anything wrong with it. Has no repairs and is all original even down to the original varnish finish. This was stored properly over the years and shows it. Looks better then the pictures even. Real clean looking rod.

  This is a really nice Special Order TOURNAMENT Fly Rod made by UNION HARDWARE Company, Torrington, Connecticut in 1938. Has engraving on the reel seat but cap, E. A. Bayett 1938. Original markings in tact. Ferrules and all metal pieces are Silver & Agate. 

E.A. Bayette was in the fire insurance business in the 1930s in Hartford, Connecticut. He was a military veteran before that. The rod bag is marked with his address on it. its a little short so im adding a universal fly rod bag also. Comes with original sock and tube. 

 This is the trout tournament model 9 foot fly rod and has a line weight of 6 or maybe even a 5. This was specially made for Bayette. It goes together and comes apart as good as it gets. Has Silver Machined ferrules. Actual weight of the three piece rod is 5 oz. SILK wraps are brown and orange. All the original cork is there with a added cork thumb rest that can easily be removed but i like the character it adds. The cork thumb rest was added when new so all the original cork under it is all there. 

 Reel nice rod to go out fish with. Comes with a Original rod sock that's to short so im adding another one also and aluminum tube.

Tips are really fine. Really nice vintage USA rod and ready to fish or collect. 

 READY TO COLLECT OR FISH. GUARANTEED NO CRACKS IN THE FERRULES OR ANY WERE ELSE ON THE ROD. NOTHING LOOSE AND NO DEFECTS. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS ROD GUARANTEED. YOU WONT HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS. THIS THINGS SOLID AND GOES TOGETHER AND COMES APART AS PERFECT AS YOU CAN GET. 

  Goes together and comes apart well with that nice pop sound. Cant be any better. ferrules fit together as good as it gets.

  Weighs a lite 5 oz, with a 6 weight line. 

   I took lots of pictures of all sides, so you know what your getting.

Most rods made during the depression years(1930 to 39) had the quality cut back like cheaper ferrules, no agate guides, less guides on each piece. Not This one. This has Silver Machined ferrules, Agate stripping guide and look at all those line guides. When you look for quality in vintage rod you look for more guides added on the mid section & tips. Nickel silver & Agate is a plus.
