Offering a timeless classic from one of Sage’s greatest and most popular series.  This listing is for a SAGE XP 486-4, which is an 8’6", 4-piece, 4 wt. rod.  The XP was introduced by Sage in 1999, sporting its Graphite IIIe technology combining power, durability, and smooth feel.  It was a hugely successful design.  This is a responsive, fast action rod with an incredibly smooth feel and precise tip recovery.  The shaft is a beautiful deep forest green with translucent dark amber wraps trimmed in gold.  The rod is appointed with a Fuji ceramic stripping guide and hard-chromed snake guides and tip top.  It also features a reverse half wells premium cork grip with an up screw-locking reel seat and gorgeous hardwood insert.  The rod shows use but remains in very good condition.  The blank and reel seat show typical scratches from use, but nothing compromising.  There is one nick on the second section which should be noted as showing through the flex coat (this is small, but please see photo).  The grip shows some wear and a little roughness.  The cork has been properly cleaned/sanitized.  All guides and wraps are tight.  Included is the original labeled green bag and original aluminum case.
