H.L.Leonard 39H - 7'6", 2/2pc, 4-5wt, 3.1oz, Bamboo Fly Rod #1401 with original yellow rod sock and original tube.  According to the post-fire Leonard database, this number #1401 rod was built in 1972.  The original owner said the rod had never been fished. I had Rick of Rick's Rods inspect it and he agreed.  All bamboo, guides, grip, and butternut slip ring reel seat are in showroom condition, as seen in the attached photos. I lawn cast the rod for about 20 minutes, using both tips, with my Pflueger Medalist 1492 reel and both WF4F and WF5F lines.  Based on my casts, you could fish it with either line. The rod is in excellent condition, the reel seat and grip are unmarked and clean, all ferrules fit tightly and pop, all wraps are perfect and all guides appear unused and unworn.
